Happy Mother's Day

Anna May Jarvis, pictured above, created Mother's Day in memory of her mother. I had intended to tell you the story about how I once billed myself as The Mother's Day expert after I'd written The Mommy Guide, because it was a great way to publicize my book and because no one else had claimed the title.

But...on Friday we adopted a new dog, Pinot Gris (a name we'll be changing as soon as we think of a better one), and I'm just pooped. He's a wonderful dog and a great addition to our family, but because he was in a new house last night, he had difficulty remaining asleep and so did I.

So...the story will have to wait until next year! But, for all of you celebrating Mother's Day, I wish you a lovely day!

How great! You have a book, is it on bipolar? Is it a memoir? Any further details?

I'm working on a book too.

I have just created a bipolar blog communique, and would love for you to check it out and maybe comment whether you hate or like or whatever.

Maybe we can cross promote if makes sense, and i can sell your book :)

Take care, best of luck, and do hope to hear from you.

Dear Immi,
Thank you!

Dear Marja,
Thank you, and the same to you!

Dear Danielle,
Actually he's five years old, but very youthful! And quite adorable, at least to us! Happy Mother's Day to you as well!

congratulations on your new family member - lots of work and lots more joy.

i've been ultra sporatic the past few months, i apologize. life is a roller coaster ride much of the time - i'm thankful that the prescription my doctor prescribed and i was going to start taking a few days back (i just wanted some stability and happiness - so sick of crying and this long depressive cycle) turned out to be so expensive, even with my insurance, that i turned it down. i felt relief, whew.

i hope you have enjoyed a beautiful mother's day today and many joyful spring days too.

Oh Susan,
That is the most fabulous news! I wish you, and the new addition to your household much joy. He is so lucky to have found you, and I am sure once everyone has 'settled' into routines, you will feel the same way too! Puppy or older dog there is a certain amount of adjusting to go through. Molly turned my life upside down when she came home 6 years ago, and on reflection I wouldn't have missed a minute! Looking forward to seeing a photo so we can be officially introduced.
Such fun! Emma

Dear Emma,
Thanks so much! Yes, it is a big adjustment, but Pinot (We still can't come up with the right name; I guess it was easier naming our son because I had nine months to figure it out)has calmed down tremendously in the last few days. And he slept really well (and so did I) last night.

And I know what you mean about the changes a dog makes in your life, and I've been thinking about and praying for you and your dog.

I hope things are still okay with her! Please let me know.

Love,
Susan

Dear Mariposa,
Thank you. My book is out of print, but you can get used copies from Amazon that are inexpensive and not in bad shape. Thanks for asking.
