Computer Meltdown

Both my laptop and desktop computers crashed a few days ago. I can use my husband's computer, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the meltdown. I'll be back in a few days. I'll check for comments and email once or twice a day--but I won't be online other than that. Yikes! Maybe this is a message from the technology god telling me to exercise more, garden more, and get on with my life! Who knows?

Sorry to hear about your computer meltdown. We will miss your posts but maybe a really nice time for you with gardening, exercise, etc. Have a great week :)

Hi Susan,
Sorry to hear about the technological disaster. Hope you get it all back working soon.

What is going on in this country?
Friday the sun was out and it was so lovely I was out in my shortsleeve shirt. Saturday it was so cold and rained so hard, until it began to hail - Sunday it snowed most of the day. Perhaps the weather is bipolar?

Although I will miss your posts for a few days I certainly believe in 'divine intervention' when we neglect the important ;)

I have been doing much gardening myself these days...I love.love.love it.

Dear Tony,
Glad to hear from you. I've been concerned about how you're feeling, and whether you were able to start taking the lithium. Let me know. That's funny about the weather. While it may have been "bipolar" where you live, it's been warm and stable in sunny La-La land!

I hope there were backups... I lost a lot of material last year, since then I've picked up an external hard drive which regularly backs-up my stuff.

This is what I've been using (I don't work for them in any capacity):

3w.acomdata.com/fpp/fs.html

Good luck with this... deep breaths.

Danielle,
I guess you and I are the only ones who think it may be divine intervention. (smiling face). My garden is flourishing; my health is improving--without a single thought about wellness.

Meredith,
There were backups, but not with an external drive--which is probably the better way to go. Thanks for the recommendation.

I know the harsh feeling of losing that information...my laptop fried last year. But it was old - and I knew it was coming.

I backup the book and a few programs I needed. But I left about 900 songs (that were from my personal CD collection0 trapped on that hard drive.

I hope you get up and running and can get at everything. It shows you how fragile this world is, imagine: "all electronics going bad at once. Bank records and everything else..." Sounds like a book (or two). ;)

I'll catch you later.

Dear JayPeeFreely,
If it's a book, it's your sto write. Hope your baseball writing is a big success. Send the link and I'll check it out once my computers are fixed.

Susan
P.S. I can't imagine losing that many songs. It's lucky I'm a throwback and only listen to CDs.

I'm sorry about your computers. I've determined a long time ago that computers absolutely hate me. Not just one or two computers, I'm talking all computers. Good luck with getting them back up & running.

Hi Susan,
Techno collapse here too! No phone or net connection, so having to do this from work. Apparently someone has stolen the telephone cables!!! So phone company are having to work round clock to replace them.
The weather has picked up again, and the sun is slightly out once more. Sunblock isnt needed yet, but at least the snow has gone.
The high mood of last week subsided to normality for a day or so, but ive started to go on the up again today and really quickly too. I hope I can control things as at the weekend I am supposed to be doing a historical interpretation of a plain speaking quaker from 1740; somehow it just wouldnt do to turn into a hyper-quaker! I suppose the others could claim I have been touched by God?
Still not on any meds, but all the tests for lithium are now completed - so im waiting results. Hopefully I can start them soon and I can get back control of my moods.

Thanks BKD,
Yes, it is a bummer! Actually, I'm fairly computer literate--due to the influence of my son. But, to have both crash in one day--was truly odd.
