In Memorium

My mother, Marjorie L. Schwartz, was born on March 19, 1922 and died on October 26, 2007. There has never been a daughter who loved her mother more!

Next week, I will be writing a memorial service for my mother. I will resume posting on Tuesday, November 6th. To everyone who has posted comments about my mother or offered words of solace and support, my deepest thanks.

It is God when your heart is stirred with love..when your soul can bear the weight of your grief...in the fitting word..in the gentle touch..it is God in the still small voice...She will be missed by all...Love, SZ

There are no words that can express my sympathies to you. It has been pretty difficult for you these last few months. But know this: you mother knows how much you loved her and devoted yourself.

My prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry about your mom, Susan. I can't help but think, though, that the devotion you've shown her is sure to have impacted those around you and around her in these last difficult months and weeks and days. If kindness begets kindness (and I surely believe it does), then you have multiplied it upon the earth through your actions. Blessings on you and through you--and your lovely mother--on everyone whose life has brushed against yours.

Thanks Cate. I'll read your blog once I'm through all this. Thanks Cindy, what a lovely and thoughtful comment. I genuinely appreciate it!

Susan,

I just now surfed over to your blog for the first time in a while - I've been in the middle of our move to a new apartment in NYC - and saw your news. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've been there, with my mom (2001, cancer), so I know a child's grief. I will pray for you and your family. You are being lifted up by your friends.
